This tab is worth every penny, I'll start of with pros and cons Pros Amazing display Great processor Stereo speakers sound pretty good Back cam performs very well for a tab Micro sd slot for expansion 4:3 aspect ratio is well suited for browsing and reading documents Cons Poorly optimised software ( should give cm 11 a try) Because of above some apps keep crashing, chrome keeps reloading tabs probably due to less memory (MIUI is culprit here, as miui roms are well known for notorious ram consumption) Gets warm at times, but this is normal with any device with such great processing power Back is glossy plastic which is slippery so a case is better off for protection and better grip 4:3 aspect ratio is not suitable for watching videos Overall this is a great product for its price. I strongly recommend this to anyone who's looking for a tab for reading, browsing and gaming purpose. If you are primary objective is to watch a lot of videos then this may not be the right choice, go with any tab that has 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio And if you find any of the apps that seem incompatibility with this device then try installing the apk manually, they work, for example : Ndtv app And since this is of same size as an ipad min, almost all sleeves made for ipad mini works with this too, tested one myself and it fits perfectly

looks - glossy black white color with gorilla corning 3 glass screen NOTE - IT IS VERY SLIPPERY WHEN OPENING FROM PACKAGE IT WILL SLIDE OF YOUR HANDS AND BED KEEP IT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN TABLE /BED It almost slipped out of my hands 2-3 times keep ur hands dry lol..... :-) processor - nvidia tegra k1 very fast responsive antutu benchmark in normal mode - 42000+ and performance mode - 49000+ nenamark 2 - 61.4 fps Quadrant - doesnt work RAM - company says 2 GB but in info its actually 1745 MB of which 800 MB free rest sucked in by MIUI ROM Internal Memory - 16 GB of which 12.9 GB free and i have tried OTG works and 64 GB micro SD card also works smoothly display- 2K resolution 2048 x 1536 with ppi 320+ retina display class side by side u cannot make out the difference between ipad mini 3 Sound - superb and crystal clear , loud and has bass to it dual speaker surround sound camera- 8 MP rear is good in terms of tablet has auto focus and tons of inbuilt filters age sex detection mode etc etc 5 MP front camera good for video chat and also for selfies GAMES - Modern combat 5 , real racing 3 , asphalt 8 , mmx racing , clash of clans , boom beach , dead trigger 2 , runs very smoothly NOTE - CONTINUOUS GAMING FOR MORE THAN 1- 2 HOURS will heat up ur tablet but not to the extent that it is unbearable or get burnt Battery - 6700 MAH lasted whole day ( 20 hours +) with 6 hrs gaming 4-5 hours videos on wifi and rest browsing net wifi tends to drain battery faster

Initial Review: Just got the tablet ! Great Delivery by flipkart! I have to say, the tablet looks really great. I have tried many hardcore games on this, they all worked perfectly even at maximum settings. Although the tablet heated up on the upper sides. Now after using it for a few days: Pros: 1. Ultimate gaming experience: throw any game at it, it would handle it. 2. Beautiful Screen: Nothing beats it. 3. Hardware Specs: Unmatchable at this price 4. Good Battery life: Would last 1.5 - 2 days in normal usage. Cons: 1. Back is really really slippery, I hope flipkart releases a decent cover as soon as possible, or it would definitely fall from my hand and break. You have to be really careful with the tablet. 2. MIUI: It is a disaster, of all I heard about the MIUI. The software on this tablet is a joke. I have had better experience with my 3 years old HTC Explorer(ran android gingerbread). 3. Heating Problem: Heats up a lot when playing hardcore games. 4. Apps do not move to external SD Card: If you are patient then it's better to wait for 64 gig version. The Cons in any way do not shadow it's pros. However it has been since a year the mipad has been released and still they haven't come up with a solution to the so called software. It it is safe to assume that they won't rectify the whole lot of problems in their MIUI.

Given such a powerful hardware inside, the tablet isnt supposed to stutter. To my surprise, it stutters, even for the simplest tasks, like scrolling through playstore. One thing i dont understand is, It hardly has 800 MB of free memory out of 2 Gigs even in idle conditions. A full fledged Windows 7 desktop OS uses only around 800 MB in idle conditions, but this faulty MIUI uses around 1200 MB. That is simply ridiculous. The OS itself is a half-baked one, crashes very often giving an error 'MIUI stopped working, report or ok'. Over all, It is stupid software cramped into powerful hardware. MIUI is the bottleneck. I haven't spent much of time, a day or two only, with my limited experience i can say, the Pros are.. 1. Gorgeous Screen, i mean, it is simply delicious to look at it. 2. 'May be' powerful hardware, i haven't seen its sheer power due to software limitations. 3. Decently built given the price 4. Beautiful sound output Cons are.. 1. Software, software, and software... 2. I have few doubts on the efficiency of Proximity sensor, as it is not changing the brightness properly even in auto mode 3. Quite slippery, one may drop it. These are just the first opinions.

We all knew before buying that Mi Pad is great piece of hardware at very good price. So it is understandable buyers are feeling happy with it. But it is not perfect. The most issues are performance related. And with the hardware it has, there should not be any performance issues on this tablet. MIUI 6 stutters on such powerful tablet. It is not buttery smooth. Redmi 1S and Mi3/4 were smoother than this. Even Gmail app email scrolling is not smooth. Youtube video Swipe to bottom and restore to full screen stutters like hell. This does not happen on tablets which are much weaker than this one. But it does on Mi Pad. The launcher redraws every time you hit home button after opening and scrolling through just 3-4 apps. Settings menu stutters. Making overall experience a real downer. The screen is beautiful, speakers are above average and it is well built. But entire experience is marred by the performance issues of MIUI 6 on this tablet. I dont know if it is a faulty piece of hardware that I got or this is the norm. But if this is the norm, this is unacceptable user experience from such device. Xiaomi better fix this like they did with RedMi 1S.
Amazing tab from xiaomi!
