Hi all, Its been 10 days now since I have received this phone I would like to document my feedback on this model. Looks: Pretty attractive from the front (identical to Apple 4s/5s), Back is pretty ordinary with a cheap plastic material. Processor: Pretty Fast and so far I've not encountered any hangs or mobile getting freezed any point of time. Camera: Day time photos are pretty good, very bright and attractive colors. Night time photos are pathetic and the flash doesn't do justice. bad photography in the night. Ram: Decent RAM, infact the best one can get for Rs. 6999/- Performance: Antutu Benchmark for mine has clocked to more than 16876 which is far better than mobile phones worth Rs. 14k +. Viewing angle: Pretty bad, one has to really look exactly from the front to get the true images and colors of the display. Network: No connectivity problems at all both WIFI and 3G. Downloading speeds is pretty normal like other smartphone. Memory: Inbuild memory is 4 GB out of which around 2 GB is usable. One can always use an external Micro SD Card to compensate for the same. Call quality: Call quality is good like any other mid range mobile phones in the market. However I did feel while receiving a call the screen comes more sensitive and the calls get received without accepting it. Touch: Touch is sensitive enough and didn't come across to any lag. Feel: The phone feels premium on holding, much on a heavier side. On a whole the Phone does justice to a Rs. 6999/- price tag. We cannot ask for anything more.

Lava has presented a device that promises latest software and powerful hardware. As far as the 406q is considered, its a decent attempt to provide quad core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. The device is what it promised to be specs wise but when it comes to functionality, it is what you would expect from a device that costs 7000 bucks. The positives of this phone are of course the speed and lag free experience, the ability to play 1080p videos. Battery backup is decent, lasts a day with regular usage without playing games. Battery got discharged 18% while watching 30 minutes 1080p video. 3G is decent, wi-fi has some issues maybe update will fix it. Heating issue is there but not as much as other users are complaining. Charging is decent, 15 to 65 percent in 75 minutes when not in use. This is a decent phone with its own share of issues like every other phone, camera's a bit grainy could have been better, call quality could have been better and it is missing the secondary speaker. Haven't tested the sensors maybe I'll update my review later. Verdict Aesthetics: [3/5] Phone looks decent but not on par with premium devices and is a bit bulky. Performance: [4.5/5] Apps and games run without any lag, feels butter smooth. Features: [4/5] This phone is spot on as described in specification let down by minor issues like poor camera quality and absence of secondary speaker. Basic Functionality: [3.5/5] Basic functionality like voice calling could have been louder, music and internet access are without hindrance, apart from wi-fi. Value for money: [4/5] Final Score: [4/5] This phone could have been truly exceptional if not for its looks and the above mentioned issues but the built quality is okay. A nice attempt but could have been better. The 19.5mb update which was available but couldn't be applied has been taken down by Lava, maybe we'll get a fixed update soon.

Lava announced a mobile with best configuration for the price. Its configuration is really good for the price and can give others a run for money. Positives: 1) Guaranteed Upgrade to KitKat 4.4 2) Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 1.2 GHz SOC (probably 8212 or 8612, 1.2 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7) 3) Adreno 302 Graphics 4) 1 GB RAM - Some of it will be shared by graphics 5) 4 GB ROM - Some of it will be used up by OS 6) Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, ALS 7) 1700 mAh Battery (A little less for a quad core but a 4" display needs less power..OK at this price) 8) Dual camera (5 megapixel rear+VGA Front cam) 9) Dual tethering (phone to PC and vice-versa.. U can use computer's net connection to phone and otherwise) 10) Dual SIM, 3G (21.1 Mbps) Negatives: 1) Set looks a bit thick - At this price u can't complaint 2) Rear camera is fixed focus - Just don't expect a lot from it 3) As per our experience with lava, bundled headphone is worth throwing out, you have to buy one if you want to hear songs on it..but its OK. 4) Its Lava.. not a big house. Please note still I have not seen it. My review is based on the configuration. Once I can get one I will update it accordingly. I am personally using moto g and Its a great mobile. please don't compare this mobile with moto g, which costs exactly double of this and has a lot more feature. It won't be fair. (@Saptarshi - No its not snapdragon 400 with Adreno 305 like moto g.., @swapnil - All Snapdragon soc are not the same.. I request you all not to comment/compare without knowing). But at this price I really think its a great buy. Just buy a class 10 memory card (don't buy a slower class 4 one) and a decent headphone and you got a great phone at this price.

please dont listen to idiots posting trash about this product...im using it and haven't received one single glitch... just for the benefit of other interested users posting a complete review of the phone along with benchmark scores: Looks:(5/5) The phone comes in two colour options, I have bought the black one and it comes with a rectangular kind of design, it has the IML finishing(the criss cross pattern on the back that is usually availabale on high end phones like Samsung galaxy grand) on the back, that adds that extra chic to it. Screen:(4.5/5) Device supports a 4 inch screen with a resolution of 480x800 with 233 PPI, the colours come out really well, and has good viewing angles. Camera:(5/5) Supports a 5.0 MP camera(which takes clear and good pictures even in low lght condition) with a fixed focus and single LED flash and VGA front camera(works well for the selfies you wanna take) Memory and Processor:(5/5) If I could i would have given an extra point for this configuration at this price(1.2 GHz quadcore Qualcomm snapdragon and 1 GB RAM) i must add here that this configuration is not available anywhere in the market apart from this phone. All in all no issues faced, a very satisfied customer, no heating no signal loss nothing.,,.awesome phone.

This is best phone I have ever got in this price range. I have received this phone 3 days ago. Performance : First of all the performance of the phone is great, and the battery lasts for over 8 hours for normal usage. Battery takes around 2 hours to charge fully. Touch is smooth. Gaming : I installed Asphalt 8 and that's it, afterwards I was not able to install High volume games like FIFA 14, GT Racing 2, etc, Asphalt 8 running very fine, other small games i managed to install and working fine too, hope Lava will fix this in the update. Software : I am currently getting software issues on the phone, like getting application crashes for whatsapp and other programs, but I hope that Lava will fix this problem as soon as possible in there update. Other OS functions are operating as expected. Camera : If you want to use this phone for taking good quality photos then its not for you. Camera Quality is Satisfactory. Front VGA camera is good in good light around you. Evening/Night time photos are not good Sensors and Other : Bluetooth, Wifi and sensors all are working fine. As there is no compass/gravity sensors in this phone, in Google Navigation you cannot identify where you are heading by standing at one point, you will need to ride or walk to some distance then it will update your location by GPS. Call : Call quality is fine and there is no issue to the recipient in hearing my voice as well. Overall what I needed (Speed & Performance) that I got, so I am satisfied for putting 7K for this. If you want all perfect then you have to shell out more from your pocket :)

1. good build quality, compact feel 2. very responsive and fast. guess it is the quadcore snapdragon. 3. checked the memory usage initially, and said 650MB of RAM already in use, and only 350MB remaining. Still trying to figure this one out ... 4. battery performance seems to be good. takes a while to charge though. 5. yes, there is a slight heating issue, but it was warm and not "hot". have not played any games yet, so maybe it heats up when taxed. don't know yet. 6. wifi, sim all working fine. bluetooth worked fine. transferred contacts from bberry to this phone seamlessly. 7 . no problem storing apps in sd card or moving it from internal storage to sd card. don't know why one user was complaining. no problem with that. in any case, i have always been confused with these terms: internal memory, internal storage, external storage, RAM etc. and the 4GB which is inbuilt as advertised usually includes all of the above. its frustrating when these terms are used interchangeably by manufacturers themselves ! 8. youtube/video playblack is good. screen is just 4inch, so maybe a 5inch is preferable. sound quality is good. don't know about surround/base effect... All in all, worth the moolah, i guess. would have preferred more internal storage, perhaps an 8gb. would have preferred higher battery capacity, perhaps 2000mah. and would have also preferred a 4.7inch with a higher resolution... don't know the benefits of android 4.3 ( technically speaking ). so don't know if it is worth the latest build. maybe ... At 5K, it would be a blindfolded buy :) :)

I am using this phone for the last 24 hrs. Here are my comments: 1. The product quality is reasonable good. Fit and finish is ok. All the basic functions I have tested are working as intended. Did not hang during initial try-outs. 2. There was some initial heating during heavy usage, but that has come down after first charging of battery. Not sure if there is any technical co-relation between heating and heavy battery usage at the initial stage. 3. Screen Guard that comes with the box is very delicate and difficult to install. I feel the quality is not good. Flip cover is thick but quality of material is ok and looks durable. 4. Audio and Video quality is good. 5. Camera Quality is good in natural light. Front camera is not good (as it is VGA) but serves it purpose. 6. Could not identify lag, I have also played Temple Run – found no problem. 7. I am not sure about Lava Support; hope that Lava support will not be required. 8. This phone is a bit bulky compared to other recent phones. I was expecting that the product would be more expensive after launch. Sadly, Flipkart and Lava did not reward the risk taking early birds who placed their orders before the launch and did not cancel in-spite of some negative campaigns. Overall I am happy with the product considering its price and performance.

Looks great. I sold the Nokia X and bought this phone. Smooth performance and well play 1080p video. Many people write more negative points like viewing angle not great, battery gets more hot, camera quality is not good. This is a budget android phone. But these people expect this phone as like a samsumg galaxy s3, sony xperia z, lg g pro. Stop this non sense. This phone is great then many other branded budget android phones. Multitasking is great. No preinstalled apps except Battery guru. Full HD video playback Speaker looks great. The speaker is not in the back. So no more sound reduction when the phone is placed back. Touch is smooth. Free flip cover and screen guard. Battery is good than Nokia X. I dont feel the phone heat because I use the flip cover. The update gets failure during starting. This error is not from the phone and the company will resolve this issue very soon and the new update will definetly make the phone much much better. Let we see some of the bugs get fixed in the update soon.
