I have bought the phone yesterday, cant believe that although this phone is having all latest features with android version- Jelly bean, good memory and processor BUT BUT it doesnt support WHATSAPP messanger !!!! I bought it after looking all it features mentioned on flipkart and other sites but nowhere mentioned about this drawback... Whatsapp has become so famous, people buy smartphone for these kinds of apps but if this phone doesnt support whatsapp, whats the use of buying a smartphone!!! This is the hidden cost of cheapness... just wanted to inform all those people who are thinking to buy this so called ANDROID phone.. there can be others apps also which may not be compatible with this device like whatsapp.. Samsung people... please dont make such devices and hide the reality if you want to be in competition.. You are deceiving consumers with such devices.. Thx

i hve seen many reviews b4 buying the product. Specially many reviews on flipkart have depicted the micro sim as only usability fr ths set as a disadvantage. But its really nothin. Technology has developed and yet the micro chips and processors and other hardware. Other countries are using this micro sim and even nano sims long ago than India. We should be thankful that gradually things are developing. Those who are having prblems with micro sim or cutting a standard sim to a micro one, i wld like to say that go to some connection store who has alrdy launched micro sim cards and get ur present sim cards punched. Once u punch it correctly there wl be absolutely no prblm with its working or detectng the sim cards.. if punchin is Incorrect then there wl be a prblm fr sure.. So jst dont wry..Some Connections have introduced micro sims last yr. and as fr whatsapp!! u can download any app u want frm prper site.. dude!! compatibility depends on sftrware.and android 4.1 is very much comaptible with modern apps... Other features are great compared to others phones in ths range!!

This phone is awesome but it supports micro-sim only not the normal one.. this is a good phone at this price.. but do not worry call your operator or directly go to your operators nearest service center and hey will change the sim..

well.... a phone totally worth buying guys. Cheap n Best as compared to other smart phones with similar features... firstly, whatsapp works... all you need to do is download the whatsapp.apk file and run it and your whatsapp will work perfectly fine.. and similar is the case with some other apps which do not run directly via play store. and flipkart says it had 4gb internal memory but out of which 2gb is already used by system apps and 2gb is available for the user,which is quite sufficient. and some apps can not be moved to SDcard after you download. For this, you need to download some apps which help you to move the apps from Phone memory to SDcard and vice-versa... so don't worry guys! you can surely take one with out any hesitation. BUT making you aware that since its a smart phone with android... so don't expect more.. 1.not great battery back-up when on internet. 2.sound quality isn't that great over conversation but definitely is good! 3.touch response is little slow most of the time.. (fast at times..behaves little crazily) thank you! hope this was helpful to some of you of there!

Samsung has been trying really hard to improve on its products. This one is totally awesome. I've been using a galaxy ace for the past 2 years and all that was good in that phone was the screen size and camera. Galaxy star a budget device at just 5k giving android jellybean , motion sensors and 1 GHz processor is a user friendly, cheap yet an all rounder device. I have heard people saying that whatsapp, temple run and a few other apps aren't supported but believe me they are. Download whatsapp from their site by using your phone browser. Games can be download from android.mob.org. Camera is pretty decent during daytime. Average in dark. Even Indian companies that give 4 inch screen phones in 5-6 k lack these features. In my opinion if Ur an average user of mobile phones and want a phone to play some games listen to music and click some piks. Then this should be your choice. P.s. - You even have Samsung's trust. GO FOR IT

Hello Friends I would like to mention everything of this phone. i ordered this phone on 8th of october and got this on 11 oct...flipkart and ws retail are doing a fantastic job...I really appreciate both of them...now its phone specs time First of all i would let you all know about its cons .. you will be happy to know that the phone contains no CONS :-) except its screen size it is 3 inches but it is okay with me ....now come to its pros as i said above there are no cons so there are all pros Games like Temple run Subway surf Fruit Ninja and Other Racing games are working fantastically .... screen resolution is awesome voice clarity is mind blowing and my review is for those who said that Whatsapp is not working u all would have download it from its website buttt believe me i downloaded the whatsapp from play store and it is working fyn .....u dont need to worry in other words ...i just want to say that this is an awesome deal .. Bought this 2 days ago from flipkart only. The phone is good in terms of features. There are some facts that I want to share. The touch response is satisfactory. Lags sometimes due to small screen. Spacing between characters in portrait qwerty keyboard layout is very less. So it's prone to mistype errors. Though it has internal 4GB memory, 2GB is system reserved. only 2GB is available for the users. But it is more than enough for this phone. It has 459MB of RAM. Approx 317MB is reserved for system. Rest is for application u will run on it. But it is sufficient for this device. Processor speed is just OK for this phone as u wont multitask on this small screen. There is no proximity sensor an GPS. The screen wont turn off during calls. Instead, double tap to unlock feature is there to protect the touch screen from accidental touches when you are in call. Battery backup is quite good. It lasts for about 40 hours with moderate calls and 2G data usage while using a single SIM. Your battery will drain 30% faster if u use 2 SIMs. Overall it's a good phone in this price range. If u want more, then pay more. The only CON I found is - the Processor and RAM capability... The phone lags while using the FACEBOOK application also. That is what I didn't expect. But overall a good buy as the cheapest Android available with a quality brand tag. NOTE: I saw lots of reviews saying Whatsapp is not available officially from Play Store. But i downloaded Whatsapp from play store only. So, YES, WHATSAPP IS AVAILABLE OFFICIALLY FROM PLAY STORE. If you dont find it there, you probably need to update the phone to it's latest firmware. One more thing... Vodafone is offering 500MB data (250mb/month) free of cost for this Device. Just insert your vodafone sim and wait for it. It will be activated automatically.

It is under 5K And people want good resolution, big screen, large memory. Thank God nobody said they want 8MP camera with this as well! Now the bottomline. Please consider the cost before talking out loud. Also do consider the brand. It is Samsung. Not micromax or karbonn or anything else. There is a difference here. You get 1Ghz and 512MB Ram under 5k. Which phone has 512MB Ram in this range? Please educate me? As far as I remember none I suppose. Almost all comes in 256MB range. The screen is small. You want a bigger screen increase your budget. Flash storage is the costliest component in a phone. Still they are offering you 4GB. Still want more? Increase your budget. "The 4GB is divided internally by the OS so 4GB doesn't mean dot 4GB. If you buy a 16gb phone you get only 11gb. People doesn't know anything will usually complain a lot about this. Where will the OS reside? Do you even need front camera for this price range?
