those who r new to windows phone plz not that you cannot compare a android phone with a windows phone simply on ram basis... if you really wanna know about android than ask a computer science engg. who has worked on android app developer....(lyf expectancy 2-3 yrs max) Now talking about the ram, a android phone need much more ram than a windows phone for same functioning because of background process ( check the task manager) whereas in windows phone there is no such case. ( it closes the app when back button is pressed). so a android phone with 4gb ram might lag but a windows phone with 1gb ram wont. now the application part... As you all know that win 10 is rolling out on 29 july (for free) for all devices ( unlike android phone which get only one major update in its lyftym.) windows 10 include various features like otg support, ability to run ios apps and android apps, etc.. so do the research properly... and happy shopping!!!!

I grew tired of Android ages ago. I do not appreciate how difficult it was to get software updates, how the end-user has limited control over his/her device (eg. You can't uninstall bloatware that come pre-loaded in your phone. You can't move all apps to SD card. You can't take screenshots). Sure, rooting is the way to go, but as an end-user, I never had the time nor the inclination to jailbreak my phone and risk bricking a 19k device. iPhones reminded me of cute poodles in Ritz lobbies. They look good, cost a bomb, and don't really do much. So I started following Microsoft closely. Their acquisition of Nokia meant they were very serious about their mobile business. They had India as one of their priority markets, considering how they started launching devices here before mature markets like the US and Europe. And I found in Windows, a sincere attempt to give the users complete control over their devices. Things I couldn't do in Android without rooting my phone, were basic and built-in features in Windows. I watched as Microsoft launched the 535. The device was a bit too low range, so I waited for their next launch. 640 and 640 XL were announced, and I knew I was going to get the 640 XL. Sure enough, the device blew past all my expectations. * Great build quality. It's got a premium feel to it. * Camera is out of this world. Zeiss is no joke. * Call quality, display quality, performance - all get 5 stars. * Battery is a mammoth. I can go 1.5 days on low usage, and 1 day with heavy use. Cons: * Accessories provided are basic. No USB cable, and the earphones are not the best. Anyway, I don't think this is an issue, since manufacturers build the cost of accessories like premium earphones, SD card, USB cable, etc. into the net cost of the device. I prefer to pay just for the hand-set and chose my accessories as I please. Overall: I waited a long time for this device. I can tell you it was well worth the wait.

I have been using android smart phone for about 2 years and enjoying the usefulness of the smartphone. My husband was still using an old featurebased phone and I decided to gift him a new smartphone. My budget was around 13,000. There are many android phones available at 13,000 but my husband chose microsoft and we ordered it for him. Flipkart delivery was very fast and it came intact with good packaging. The windows phone have come a long way now. It is really good. For me since I am so used to android, I sometime feel certain things like sharing photos, getting notification updates, adding accounts, switching on/off mobile data, google maps, google contacts, unlocking the phone are some features better handled by android. But believe me these all can be done in MS also and they are pretty good once you get used to it. It is more like your laptop without the desktop apps :). One thing which I didnt like is the absence of OTG. So you cant plug in any micro USB :(. I really dont understand why MS had not included this options. The office 365 (1 year only) is not such a big thing I feel, as you can use MS office online if you need it very badly. The picture and video (FHD) is very good than the onpaper 13mp cameras on other budget android smartphones. My suggestion is that dont buy MS phone just to use office. Buy it if you want to experience windows and if you are not too attached to some of your special android customerization or apps it wont disappoint you. This lumia is here to stay i believe.

I have a lumia 920 since 2013 and I love it... But after its screen broke due to accident, I was looking for a new phone and finally got this one in white colour..and its stunning.. Its battery lasts for 1.5 days on heavy use and 2 days on normal usage. The phone works as fast as you expect and the touch, feel, display even at 259 ppi, each and everything is just awesome. The phone fits my hand perfectly and I love its 5.7 inch display. Those who want to try a big screen can surely go for it you wont regret buying it. Typing messages and playing games is really enjoyable on this screen. its much much light weight then I expected. I know its 170g bt doesn't feel so, may be it has better weight distribution, and easily gets into pocket which I love a lot. I am truly satisfied with my choice. Its totally worth its price.

Bought this for my boyfriend.... And a Lenovo X2 vibe for myself. Now here is a small comparison b/w the 2 phones... 1. camera is way better of lenovo vibe x2 than Microsoft 640xl. The indoor photography with lenovo vibe x2 is awesome and the flash is really great than Microsoft 640xl. Both has 13 MP Primary camera and 5 MP Secondary camera. Outside photo is great with Microsoft 640xl but indoor sucks. And here the comparison ends... Because for other features the Microsoft 640 XL beats the Lenovo vibe x2 in each and every aspect (even the Lenovo is Rs 2000 more) Touch is awesome. The android lags so much in every applications. Here is a small example- by the time i was downloading Myntra App in my Lenovo, my boyfriend downloaded, installed, selected the product and ordered it in Myntra- while my phone was still downloading the app (both of us were using the same Wifi if u r thinking about the net speed) For people complaining about missing apps in Microsoft phone I have seen him using almost every app that I use in my Android phone. Now coming to applications:- Facebook- all the photos get loaded as soon as the app is opened (in android it takes 1 to 2 mins) Youtube- again the same thing... all the thumbnails and the lists get generated really fast in his phone than mine. Screen resolution is good, very easy to use, clutter free. And yes the icing on the cake is Cortana- your personal assistant just like Siri without paying 50K as in iPhone but works much better.!!! Maps is very much precise, navigation can be done when offline once you download the map- He did for West Bengal for just 138 MB- and now we can go anywhere without having to ask direction and connect to internet. Tiles can also be setup as per ur liking once u download the app.

I was confused between Lumia 730 and this one. They have same specifications except rear camera and glance screen and ofcourse screen size. So i choose 640 XL because of above specification. Micosoft has done a great job with this phone. Touch is like butter smooth. Display is little bigger but becomes handy after a while. Camera quality of both front and rear camera is superb in daylight. However night photography is not so much chill, just average. Build quality is good. Glance screen is awesome. Music and video playback is good too. Speaker volume is ok. . . . only drawback of wndows phone i found is that we can't adjust network bands to either 2G or 3G. It is annoying as it shifts to 2G from 3G by itself. Ther is no single band selection like that in android. Overall its a superb phone. So all i can say...Go for it if u can handle a big phone. I bought it from local retailer.

This is an excellent product available in the market and is a must buy for those especially bugged with using android OS. I suggest flipkart to make it clear about the specification for white variant. White is available in Matte and Glossy finish. Simply mentioning the product as "White" doesn't serve the purpose! Do not compare the configuration of this phone with simple Lagdroid phones! Windows OS doesnt need much configuration to work, it supports basic hardware! So no comparison with Xiomi, Mi and other Lagdroid phones! Windows is something different!

I have been using this phone for just over a week now. I waited a few days before giving a review in order to fully test the potential of this phone. Before this phone, I owned a Samsung S Duos. Up till now, I am very much satisfied with the Windows experience. Cortana the voice assistant is awesomely witty in her own right. The phone did not even lag once. Even while playing heavy games like Asphalt 8. The Here Maps and Here Drive are very accurate. Here Maps also provides a Live Sight view. It works in a way that when you hold up your phone, your screen shows all the major restros and buildings in that direction on the screen. It is true that no data cable is provided. But you can always upload it to One Drive via the phone and directly download the pics and documents in your Computer. No hassles of connecting your phone via USB into your computer. The 3G speed is also awesome. I use Aircel. Vodafone would be just too good!! The phone also connects very smoothly with Wi-fi networks. I personally did not find any dearth of apps in here. Windows has Whatsapp, Hike, PayTM, Ola Cabs, Cs Scanner, Blink, Share It, Facebook, FB Messenger, Zomato...... virtually everything I would ever need. Only I found just one disadvantage, if I may call it so. Whatsapp does not have calling facilities in Windows YET. I guess it will be updated with Windows 10 in October. Sorry for writing so long. In my finishing lines, I would just stress that Buy this phone. Experience Windows as an OS. You wont regret it.

I have used many Android Phones like Motorola, Samsung Note 2, HTC Desire 816g g but it was the first time I tried Windows phone and my experience with this phone is awesome. Pros which I have notices: 1.Flawless functioning..no hanging and hiccups. 2.Ultra clear voice quality. 3.Marvelous battery backup..at least 1.5 days with moderate to heavy use. 4. Good display size. I have used this phone for almost 2 months and there has not been any cons which is worth mentioning. One more think to mention : Windows phone do not get slow like Android ones. My suggestion: If you want a genuine phone which always get along with you with the reliable features. Then go for it.Else Androids are bound to get slow whatever be the ram configuration...not mature enough to stand before Windows. Thanks Microsoft for such a mature operating system.
get your facts straight guyz!!!!
