I have considered this TV vs Panasonic TH-L42E5D. Sony KLV-40EX430: 1. Direct LED 2. Weight - Sony weighs 6.7 Kg 3. Simpler LCD Panel 4. Screen 40" 5. Backlighting 100MHz 6. Sharp images with good BLACK screen effect 7. Not feature Rich - No Wifi, LAN, Only one USB, 2 HDMI, No Key Board, mouse, No Smart TV feature. Panasonic has the following things : 1. Edge LED (said to be superior) 2. Weight - weighs some approx 14Kgs 3. Advanced IPS Panel 4. Screen 42" 5. Backlighting 150MHz 6. Image Quality is good but does not match Sony. I have seen both running the same visuals while kept side by side in store. 7. Has adv features - Wi-Fi Ready (One still has to buy Wi-Fi connector), LAN port, Limited sites browsing. ======================================= Verdict: - For picture quality - Sony 40EX430 - For other features in same price as well as a sleek 42" TV - Panasonic TH-L42E5D

Pros: Excellent image quality USB supports maximum video formats, MKV format plays well and picture quality is extra ordinary. Cons: No LAN / WIFI Sound quality is good but for cinema effect you need to have Additional speakers.

I just brought this a couple of days back. Just loving it. Watching movies in 1080p is just amazing. Pros: 1.Amazing picture quality 2.Ultra light. Weighs just 6 or 7 kgs 3.As usual sound quality is good Cons: 1.The sound output reduces when playing movie via usb drive. But when coupled with speakers, this gives an amazing movie experience 2. Picture quality is good only with DTH. cable wont do any good 3. The UI for menus and options could have been better 4. A little overpriced. but its the brand that we pay for.totally worth it.

Hi I purchased this TV recently. Picture quality is very good. You should have DTH for better quality.Usually for Sony TV you don't get discount in any store. But some store they give free bees along with this TV Pls. check and buy.
