This is a good laptop in this price . I have brought it at greater price than now . But let's remove all confusions about this lappy. it have quad core amd a8-6410 prcesser with clock speed of 2.0 GHz it have 8gb ram of800mhz(not 1600 mhz as mentioned it in specifications) 1 tb hard disk 5400 rpm battry life 5hrs-at no work , 4hrs if watching movie ,2.30hrs while gaming graphics radeon r5 2gb graphics cache memory 2mb(0.5mbx4) 1inch width multitouch touchpad sound quality is very good dolby speakers screen is of 15.6 inch but sometimes screen is shaking but i found it does not matter. After buying this , install windows 7 64bit or windows 8 64 bit install all drivers from dvd or download from lenevo website

To all the people, who are saying it is 800Mhz RAM, i am sure you guys are checking with CPU-Z. Do not tell false specifications if you have not done any research on it. DDR stands for "Double Data Rate". This laptop have DDR3 1600Mhz RAM. CPU-Z shows only 800Mhz i.e. the single rate with multiplier 2. So which is 800*2 = 1600. Google for 2-3 minutes if you want to know more on it. Finally about the major negative point of this laptop, it's display is aweful. That is one of those reasons they added 8 GB RAM to sell these laptops. White does not show up as white, it is like yellowish white. Same with other colors. Color saturation is pathetic. Open a picture with your smart phone and in this laptop, you will see what i mean. Better go with a laptop with 4 GB Ram similar prices and later upgrade it. Upgrading a RAM is much cheaper than replacing a pathetic display. The processor and graphics card in this laptop can do much better. Display problem is not AMD's fault, it is a bad display screen by Lenovo.

First I will start with Flipkart delivery. I received the latop on the second day of ordering it which was quite impressive. However ther packing got me concered as the Flipkat box in which the laptop arrived was packed shabily and it looked like it was not handeled with care. But the lenovo box that contained the laptop was in good condition. Eventhoug the description does not mention it, a free lenovo bag is included, sweet! Now coming to the laptop: PROS: Good configuration AMD A8, 8GB RAM and 2GB graphic card Display is decent graphics are good and supports games like Devil May CRy 5. No overheating as of now. Since no OS is pre-installed you are free to install an OS of you choice and make all the partitions you want. Audio is Good and lots of short cut keys Sleek design and not too heavy. HDMI Port as well as VGA port. The drivers CD that is included has old version dowload the latest from Lenovo site or AMD and you are set to go. CONS(not exactly techical but more likeexternal build and design) The touch pad buttons are foolishy narrow and you really have to focus when pressing them also the touch pad is not at the same leve as the latop's suface but slightly pressed in which is very irritatiing. The real annoying ones are the LEDs which are ridiculousy small and even smaller are the symbols they represent. There is no HDD activity LED, only Power and battery LEDs which are located at the front. The LEDS are two little dots and the power and batery subols are so small that i had to use a flash light to see them properly in a well lit room. Finally one major dissapointment was that when I purchased the laptop there was an offer of 2years extended warranty for just 1499, but after purchasing this latop and registering it for that offer it got declined saying that this paticualt series is not eligible for that offer, sad! I would have given this laptop 5 stars but the warranty thin and teh desing annoyance take away two stars.

A8-6410 is mullin processor, lag behind in single application compare to core i5, but do multitasking comparable. Cool and silent after installing drivers, for windows 7 install lenovo energy management of g505s model for airplane mode. R5 graphic consume memory from ram, 512mb on 4gb and share 1.5gb. dedicated graphic is entry level R5 M230 (Radeon 8500m) having 2gb ddr3 ram, total graphic memory for 8gb is about 6gb. Build quality is good for price, display of colours are dull not bright, lightweight, sound quality is good have dolby certified, bottomside have fan. Pros: low price, gaming capability, lightweight, sound Cons: display, screen

Writing this review after setting up and using the laptop for one day. At this price point this is one of the best everyday usage laptop and can be used for moderate gaming. Performance wise the A8 6410 is comparable to that of Intel's i3 ULV processors although AMD beats Intel clearly in the graphics department. Got 2.5 hrs of battery backup for web browsing, data transfer from external HDD and some other activities after setting it up. I read some users having issues using Ubuntu with this laptop. The issue is a driver related one and installing the drivers fixes it easily and its quite simple. First update Ubuntu, then open the Additional Drivers app from the launcher. There under "Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]: Sun LE" select "Using Video driver for the AMD graphics accelerators from fglrx-updates (proprietary)" and click "Apply Changes" at the bottom. The driver will download it self and get installed. After that just restart the system and things will run normally. The brightness control will be back and the frequency scaling of the processor will be optimized. You will also get your Catalyst Control Center for Linux with the driver. Only the boot screen will take some time to appear so don't get scared if you see a black screen during booting after installing the driver. I dual booted my system with Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 14.04 and both OS are doing great. The overall build quality is good but there are some design flaws which I didn't liked. Firstly, the laptop's top half(lid+screen) is quite different from that of the bottom half. The lid is smooth and matte finished and the bezel around the screen is piano finished. While in the bottom half the area around the keyboard has a brushed metal like textured finished which feels nice and the bottom has a carbon fiber like textured which is also nice. It looks like the top half is completely from a different series compared to bottom half which has a much better finishing on both sides. I didn't quite ge

PROCESSOR: AMD A8: THE BEST PROCESSOR FOR *GAMING *MULTI TASKING *VIDEO AND PHOTO EDITING *3D MODELLING(CAD,SOLID WORKS,ETC..) THESE ALL THINS ARE DOING WELL THAN INTEL i5 SLIGHTLY SLOWER WHILE HANDLING SINGLE AND SIMPLE APPS WHEN COMPARED TO INTEL i5......FOR HIGH ENDED APPS AND GAMES AMD A8 REALY BETTER THAN i5. NO HEATING PROBLOMS.. WITH COMBINATION OF 8GB RAM AND 2GB GRAPHICS CARD THE FOLLOWING GAMES ARE PLAYED LIKE CHARM.. *GTA 4 *BATTLEFIELD 4 *FAR CRY 4 *CRYSIS 3 *WATCH DOGS *C0D GHOST *HITMAN ABSOLUTION BATTERY BACKUP: NORMAL USE UP TO 5 HR MOVIES:3.5HR GAMING 2.5HR, ONLINE:3.5HR AUDIO:DOLBY CERTIFIED HD AUDIO THE ONE AND ONLY CONS:DISPLAY(while watching movies the highly contrasted scenes are not visible well,..we can change this to anti glare display) DONT THINK MORE PLACE UR ORDER.

I am writing this review after using laptops for two weeks.... I was searching for a good laptop from 1 month between the price range of 40-50k but when seeing the specs of this one i bought this one and really i doesn't regret my decision... pros:- Resonable Price(5/5) Good 15.6inch Display(4.5/5) , Good Keyboard(4.5/5) 8Gb Ram , 2gb Graphic Card (Really Worth it)(6/5) Average Battery Life(upto 4hrs of constant usage)(4.5/5) Apu A8 Processor(Giving tight competition to costly intel i5 processors)(5/5) Gaming:-Best entry level gaming phone(fifa14 works like charm)(5/5) Good Design(4/5) Light Weight Quickest Boot Time Dos(saved my 5000rs) Charger cable length(more than medium) All the drivers available at lenovo site and they had also provided it in the package(for win8.1 64bit) And Many more.....(in one word if you want a lappy at 30k buy this one without further thinking) All the drivers available at lenovo site and they had also provided it in the package Cons:- Camera(but it dosen't matter)(3/5) Trackpad also not the best(4/5) and also the backpack provided with it is also of very good quality.... to enter into boot menu press fn+f9 or fn+f12(if somebody doesn't know) at last i have installed win8.1 64bit os and they have provided the "drivers cd" for the same and i m just loving my laptop it has saved my money and i have bought yureka from that money....(:>

Good build quality and sound quality. Its really cool and light. With Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS & 14.10 installations, system was working fine but suddenly started hanging. I think this is due to the drivers. Unable to find drivers for linux in lenovo website. However with Windows & Korara ( built on Fedora), system works superbly. Pros: Price, sound, graphics card, cool and light Cons: No dirvers for non windows OS especially when offered as Free Dos, no back-light keyboard

Below are my observations after 3+ months of usage. Before reading further first read the review by "Ayan Patra". His observations are accurate. So i'll only add to what he's already said. You need to install fglrx-core, fglrx and fglrx-amdcccle drivers in this order to utilize the hardware acceleration in linux. Also do not try to update these linux drivers without uninstalling them completely first or else you'll not be even able to boot into this system. But still in case you reach that situation then you'll need to enter the root shell via the recovery mode and uninstall these drivers from there. Ubuntu forums are great for all the details on these. I'll not categorize my observations under pros and cons as they're subjective to each person. 1) I replaced it's hard disk with "Samsung 850 PRO 256 GB SSD" and use an external LED display to extend the displays for development purposes. It works smoothly on both my ubuntu 14.04 x64 and windows 7 x64 dual boot system. 2 ) Amazing gaming performance. I played Crysis 2 with all settings to extreme and game effects and post processing set to Ultra with DX 11 and HR textures on at 1366x768. The average FPS i got was 20. I've also played NFS Hot Pursuit 2 at highest settings at the resolution of 1600x900 by connecting an external LED monitor using the VGA port. I did'nt measure the FPS but its definitely 30+. This i think says everything about the incredible performance of this laptop. 3) File zipping is amazingly fast specially on linux and apps run fast never felt a lag in any of the applications. 4) Although i use an external keyboard and mouse almost always with this laptop but for those who don't the mouse buttons on trackpad are hard to click and the worst design flaw of this laptop in my opinion for those on the move. 5) Battery backup is below average because of the graphics card. So if you're not looking to utilize all that computing power then you might consider another laptop with on-board graphics. 6)

It's a desktop if you look at it's battery backup (less than an hour) and I'm not playing and hardcore games here, simple coding in editors. Wors part - Flipkart says they will provide a new one of same. I wish I could re-order
Gaming Laptop!
