I wanting to by this phone. I am loyal user of lava phone. I fist phone was lava also. I like latest android and 5 mp cam. Phone is luking very beutiful also. Big screen is very good and i like it very much. Some people say lava is not gud but as an experienced user. I am very much satisfied with lava products. Thumbs up to lava.

If a high end mobile phone ends up as an headache out of fear that it may get stolen, this is one phone that doesn't compromise on most of the required essential features and yet not burn a hole into the pocket, which ultimately means peace of mind to the owner. The 512 MB RAM albeit is a glaring deterrent in a world with better memory, but the low cost of the handset compensates the owner adequately. However, the avid gamers who need faster speeds may not agree. The phone could have been loaded with a more Apps available in the free domain as well mas the paid domain. The specifications could have been a little more specific, specially about the GSM SIMs. While the lower SIM bay accommodates a regular GSM sim, the bay on top is shared by a GSM micro SIM and a micro SD card (memory chip). Any one buying the phone as an upgrade from a previous dual sim phone will be taken unawares because the listing does not clearly give this information, and, buyers will have to visit their mobile service provider to get a duplicate micro SIM of the smaller size, before being able to use the dual sim feature. I had to do some resize tweaking with my existing sim card so that it would fit the smaller slot (some thing I would not recommend an inexperienced user to do, unless one is convinced that it makes no difference whether the sim is destroyed while tweaking or by letting it get accidentally flushed out in the loo ;) ) The phone comes with a complementary good quality flip cover. which is not mentioned in the listing. A "What's in the Box" could also have been included in the listing... These little ifs however doesn't prevent this product from a 5/5

Best mobile under Rs. 5000... comes with screen guard, amazing flip cover.... usually delivered within 4 days..... large screen size... makes it look like a tab.... got it yesterday ..... working quite well for me...... nice product at a such low cost.... only problem is 512 mb RAM.... rest is good..

Design: At this price, the designs of phones are generally pretty generic and straight forward. However, while it may not be one of the best looking phones in the world, the Iris 500 actually looks pretty good, especially the one in white. Hardware: The phone has a 1.3 Ghz dual core processor and 512 mb of Ram. While this seems like it is par for the course when it comes to phones at this price, it would have been something else if Lava did but a quad core processor in the phone. The internal memory of the phone is 4 Gb which, again, is par for the course. So I can’t say that it is disappointing. But it is certainly what you would get with other phones in this price range. There is also an external memory slot to expand the storage through a microsd card. The 1800mAh battery of the phone should about a day with moderate usage. Software: The phone comes with Android 4.4 Kitkat already installed in the phone. This is great news for anyone who wants a taste of Google’s latest flavour of OS without paying too much. Camera: The Iris 500 comes with a 5 mp primary camera with a flash that should lend to some good pictures. The front facing camera is only a VGA camera. But the fact that it is there is a big enough deal. Display: The 5 inch screen of the phone has an FWVGA display with a resolution of 854x480 pixels. While this may not sound like much, it is pretty standard for a phone in this price range.
