Sony BRAVIA 32 inches HD LED KDL-32EX550 Television(BRAVIA KDL-32EX550) - Reviews
By Sayantan Datta on Aug, 2012
First of all I have to say that I could not buy it from Flipkart as it was not available in Kolkata. Did a extended research to buy my 2nd LCD tv. Decided to choose among few Full HD models of Samsung and Sony. My priority was a 32"Full HD TV and LED if possible. Inquired about those from local dealers. Short-listed a few from those two manufacturers. The Samsung Thick LED Full HD models could not satisfy me in terms of picture quality. Though the Slimeline LED models are fantastic but very expensive. From my personal experience of using Samsung TV before, I can tell they used to make good TV earlier, but not now-a-days. Specially the new Samsung LEDs produce very bad, dull pictures with loud but unclear sound. So, was zeroing down to Sony Full HD LCDs. Suddenly the Sony 32EX550 LED was turned on and it caught my eye instantly. No,it was not Full HD but the picture quality was unimaginably good. Was delivering best pictures among all the 35-40 LCD/LED running in that shop. The picture had a beautiful glow and was looking so crispy. The only better picture I got was from Sony EX650 (full hd version of EX550)and Sony NX650 (monolithic Full HD LED). But those were out of my budget. Instantly I moved away from Full HD and bought this one. Now enjoying it in home with absolute pleasure. I can tell one thing for sure; no other electronic gadget pleased me so much before.

Before buying it I was in a confusion whether to go for sony or samsung. I visited many shops compared both of them and trust me Wherever I go I found EX550 is the tv That I sould buy after visiting so many shops and comparing picture and sound from different corners. Though monolithic version gives better picture but for that you have to pay a huge amount. Full HD version ex650 gives theoritically better picture witch you can't observe. If you have money, don't go for any samsung or lg or anything. Sony creates environment of cinema, sports, animation, music by its different scenes. So don't hesitate to buy it. Its only demerit is it can't play all video formats.

I wholeheartedly agree with Sayantan Datta's post. I had exactly the similar experience. In my case, I was also looking for a full HD experience and the shopkeeper gives me a wink and says there is this 32EX550 TV if, my customers comes to know, will opt for it and not for any full HD. I was a bit apprehensive but then he switched on the television and I felt 32EX550 was best for my budget. I had initial plans to stick to samsung (was a loyal fan earlier), but being more of cash crunched, I felt Sony was giving the best of options at a lesser quote. I am happy now having this TV at home... felt the deal was economic and best in class. PS: I would have opted for flipkart but there is a festival back home and that has brought along some amazing deals for buying electronics goods. For instance, i bought 32EX550 and got a Sony DVD, Sony 6.1 speaker set and a surprise gift. (the price quote for 32EX550 was one grand more than what flipkart offers). Anyways, there is a Sony headphones as well that comes with it.

I have purchased this TV recently from a local dealer and I have admit that I have fell in love with it. I have compared this Live in showrooms with all other top brands and it has simply bowled me over. The picture clarity, crispness and detail is soo good and sound is far better compared to it's competitors. Sony is also offering an additional 2 yr warranty for 2k which is pretty decent. Only downside is that it's not able to play all formats which is ok for me since I have lot of converter softwares. Flipkart price is 2~3k cheaper than in showrooms.

I have purchased Sony Bravia 32EX550 a month back. I have purchase d this from authorised showroom in Bangalore and not from flipkart. I visited few showrooms before buying this fascinating product.EX550 is priced a bit high compared to the other LED's with the same specification but it delivers vivid, bright and true life like pictures. I am completely satisfied with this stunning product. Its a visual treat for the eyes when it comes to viewing HD channels. It doesn't support mkv files but it can play mp4 and avi flawlessly. Go for it guys , you wouldn't be disappointed.

Go for it. No second thought. Initially I was behind SAMSUNG but now after buying SONY 32" EX550 Series HD LED TV I should say in future also I will be behind SONY all the time. This TV with that price is really worth watching with your family members about buying it. Have A Good Deal

Nice product . I purchased it in August 2012. It works very well and the pricing of this TV is little high.It costs almost 42900 but its competetors sell their TVS with this specification in less than Rs.10000/-.That is, if we expend Rs 30000/- , we will get a TV with this specification. The look of this TV very good and we obtain nice and sharper images.Overall , a nice product.

Simply excellent!!!! Proves that sony ....all r ok.. but ethernet port is not used properly. dont worry below is the solution. hidden fact is you can convert your blu ray player and tv with ethernet connection to a wireless device . connect dlink DIR-505 with a cable and configure it for a wireless AP, it just cost 2000/ with many uses. really a great invention at this cost. then just play everything Wi-fi....

Guyz i was confused between Sony and Samsung.. ppl told me.." Cmon its SONY and the other is mere samsung... i followed the Brand SONY and made biggest mistake of my life.. I purchased it at 40k.. i brought it home and in excitement, installed it myself...then i copied one 1080P movie from my laptop in a pen drive and just plug in and guess what message i got... "Feature Not Available" as it was in mkv format (most of the full HD movies are in MKV only few of dem are in MP4 too)... i was disappointed as after spending 40k, i am supposed to first waste time in downloading the movie then spend time in converting it into SONY COMPATIBLE formats and lose the HD quality.... my disappointment reached at heights on very first day wen i tried plugging in by external seagate HDD and it didn't detect it as it was having NTFS file system instead of OBSOLETE FAT 32 file system PROMOTED by SONY. and u know wht sony guys suggests on this?? format ur HDD into FAT 32 system. Now if i want to see a movie, i first format my 1TB HDD and then convert it to FAT 32 system, then again copy my desired movie from my laptop to my HDD and then play it......QUITE USER FRIENDLY...ISN'T IT??? few days later, i arranged a party in my home and called upon few of my frenzz to watch a Korean Action Movie. I first converted the movie into MP4 from mkv (spending 15 mins on that) and downloaded subtitles from web so that the language of the movie can be understood easily and we all sat to watch movie and i was in state of shock to know that although it has an option of subtitles.... but it doesnt recognize any .srt file.... what wud u say.. plzzz dont buy it... go for any samsung TV as at least it will allow u to play movie of any format in this world, will support even ur mobile phone and last but not the least.. will recognize the .srt files.....
Not Full HD, but Fascinatingly Good.!
